A Morning Coffee Situation

Every morning while I was working in Berlin, without fail, I kept with my morning coffee situation. I call it a “situation” because I honestly cannot think of another word to better describe the process and delicious end result. It involves 7 high quality ingredient, a blender and a bit of time. I actually start looking forward to it the night before, I love it so.

The one difference between my situation at home and the one I re-created in my Berlin flat, is that at home I have an espresso machine that grinds my beans fresh as it makes my coffee. In Berlin, I had the Laird Espresso beans, smuggled in from home in my suitcase, ground for me in a local coffee shop. I then used a French Press to make the coffee. A bit more work, but well worth it.

Before I make the coffee (and while I’m pulling coconut oil), I pour boiling water into my coffee mug to heat it up so that when the coffee situation is finally blended and ready, my mug is hot and toasty, ready to keep it warm while I sip.

Obviously, all the ingredients are important, but two are very important to me: the Laird Espresso beans are the best I’ve had and the Bulletproof Brain Octane Oil is what puts the S in situation (sorry, I know that’s corny but I couldn’t help myself 😉 My situation is a CP custom version of Bulletproof Coffee. The Brain Octane Oil , according to Bulletproof’s website “supports energy metabolism”. Its a source of amazing, fast energy and helps with gut health. It isn’t “stored” as fat, but rather is quickly and easily absorbed by the body. Let’s just say my morning workouts are diesel after drinking it.

ALSO, there is one item missing from the above photo and that’s my French Vanilla Liquid Stevia that I get from Whole Foods.

Here’s the process:

Make the coffee! I’ll make a double Americano from my machine or use half the French Press.

Add it to the blender with the following:

1 Tablespoon Kerrygold Unsalted Butter

1 Tablespoon Bulletproof Brain Octane Oil

1/2 Teaspoon Coconut Butter

1/2 Teaspoon French Vanilla Stevia

1/2 Teaspoon Laird Superfood Creamer

Dash of cinnamon

Blend until frothy and creamy and serve in hot mug immediately!!! My coffee situation sets me up so right for the day and I feel incredibly alert and strong from the get go. Cheers!
